Timoshenko Galina
Galina lives at the address of Obolonsky Ave. Born on 05/17/29
She is now 90 years old. As she called herself a woman with two sticks!
In fact, this is a wonderful, sweet, intelligent woman who greeted me very warmly!
A small one-room apartment is all filled with … books !!! on the walls there are portraits, photos, pictures of different people! She lives on her own. There is no husband and as she said, God did not give children. There were so many events in her years, and as she said, she always saw the Hand of God !!
When asked when did you come to our project, she laughed and said that it was after all the revolutions !!
The first thing she came to was a concert! She’s just in love with the orchestra playing !!! And then she came to the botanical garden to her friend-architect and there the guys from our Church came up and invited them to the service! When I came and heard the choir and the orchestra, I fell in love with everything that was happening !! It was about 2000!
I am very grateful for your help and support! Once I walked, but now I have a problem with my legs and I can’t walk far! It makes my heart happy that she is with the Lord! Read the Bible! Praying! Galina sang a song for me !!! Thank God that they spoke the same language – the language of love for God !!!
In parting, she thanked for making her such a holiday !! And then she quietly added … if only there was an opportunity to go to a concert or to Easter at Church, I really miss it !! Can Galina’s dream come true? We will find an opportunity to pick up and then take you! After all, she is our member of St. Paul’s Church!

Name, date and place of birth:
#325 Timoshenko, Galina. May 17, 1929. Vinitsa.
Tell about your childhood, school, family, etc.
I was born in a nice family of clerks. I had an older sister. When I was 4 month my father was arrested for supporting Ukrainian culture. Then our family was not allowed to live in Ukraine and we had to move to Kazakhstan.
Where did you work? Was your work good? Were you happy with your job?
After my father’s death in 1944 our family returned to Ukraine. We lived in Kharkiv. In 1950 I graduated from the university with straight “A”s and entered another one in Odessa. After graduation from the institute I was sent to Moscow to receive further education in the Central University of Forcasting. Before completing my degree I left Moscow for Kyiv. In Kyiv I had worked at the scientific institute before I retired.
Tell about your present life.
I am retired now. I have the 2nd degree of disability. I live alone, but I experience God’s kindness and help through my brothers, sisters and my neighbors who take care of me. I merely do not leave home so I cannot manage doing even routine activities. Due to Linda I have been helped for almost 30 years now. With this help I can buy medicines to support my heart and liver functions. Let God keep you, dear sister Linda. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Have you accepted Christ? How long have you been following the Lord?
Sure. I have been feeling God’s presence and support for long time but especially since 1969. I decided to be baptized then but could not say it to anybody not to lose my job.
Tell about one thing your sponsor needs to know about you.
Dear Linda, I do not stop being amazed at you, Diane who visited me on her last visit to Ukraine when I could not merely leave home, and Roger – his unique personality. You are all in my morning and evening prayers. I enjoy thinking about you. Natalia from church regularly visits me. From time to time I receive phone calls from Valentina, pastor Ruslan and Irina. Let God bless you with long-living and joy. I see God’s love in people, in nature, in different circumstances. I love mountains, classic, music, animals, books, flowers – in one word: everything God has made. I am 94 and I really want to live long enough to see our victory of our neighbor who came with no invitation to fight against us with weapons. I am heartfully thankful to your country for making our victory happen sooner.
