My mother worked in an office. My own father was killed at the beginning of the war. We were raised by my stepfather. He was an officer, went through the entire war, had many medals and injuries. My grandmother also helped raise me. I went to high school in Kyiv and then entered a technical school.
Where did you work? Was your work good? Were you happy with your job?
Having a technical education, I worked in construction. Then I improved my education and qualifications. In a large construction company, she was promoted to the position of senior economist. The work was good, but hard. Work on weekends, frequent business trips. I got married and had a daughter. My mother helped me a lot because my daughter was often sick. I retired on an old age pension.
Tell about your present life.
Now the country is at war and it is difficult. My pension is small and I can’t count on any increase in social benefits. I get sick a lot. The prices for medicines are very high. My daughter lives with me now. She has a higher education, but it is very difficult to find a job in her specialty now. In such a difficult moment, I felt the importance of help from St. Paul’s Church. Food vouchers, medical examinations, medicines, both financial and spiritual support are so important.
Have you accepted Christ? How long have you been following the Lord?
When I was young, I often went to church, but I didn’t feel anything. But when I met Roger and Diane, when I started going to church, when I heard the teachings from the Word, I accepted the Lord with all my heart and decided to follow him. He helps me every day.

I will cherish all the years, about 20 years, that I have been in St. Paul’s Church. I am now 85 years old. Unfortunately, I cannot see those with whom I have so many good memories. But I am grateful for the attention, for the calls, for the messages, for the food cards, for the medicines that are sent to me. I am especially grateful for the Bible lessons that are sent to me on postcards. Despite all the difficulties and hardships, I have joy and peace in my heart. Thank you for your prayers and support.
