Tell about your childhood, school, family, etc.

My childhood was very difficult. My brother died in the war, he was 6 years old. And when I was only 4 months old, my father died. Because of all the stress, my mother was paralyzed and spent 10 years in bed. She died at the age of 41, and I was 16 at the time. I had a lot of responsibilities at home. But at the same time, I tried to study and did well. Then I buried my grandmother and great-grandmother. I was left an orphan.

Where did you work? Was your work good? Were you happy with your job?

After finishing 7th grade, I went to study at a trade school. I worked in a store as a salesperson. Later I graduated from the Trade University in Leningrad (St. Petersburg). I went to work in the planning department of the trade industry. I liked my job. Because of my husband’s illness, he had asthma, we moved to Ukraine to a city where there were salt mines. I had to get a new specialty in order to work. Over time, my husband’s asthma began to progress less, but he was diagnosed with prostate cancer. The surgery did not help and I lost him 6 years ago.

Tell about your present life.

After my husband’s death, I lived with my son’s family. All of us, my son, my daughter-in-law and I, worked at the salt mine. We also had our own vegetable garden, orchard, and vineyard. Yes, it was hard, but we managed. And then a full-scale war broke out. Our houses turned into ruins, the mine was blown up. Now our town of Bakhmut is just ruins. We all moved to Kyiv. We are renting a house. It’s hard to find a job. Eventually, my son and daughter-in-law started working at a chemical plant. It’s hard, especially for my son, because he has a herniated disc. My grandson is finishing his studies, and my granddaughter works in a beauty salon.

Have you accepted Christ? How long have you been following the Lord?

I believe in Christ. My grandmothers were believers, and I was brought up to obey God’s commandments. I have been reading the Bible since childhood. I have a strong belief that God exists, and that is why I constantly communicate with Him and believe that He will help us with our problems. He will also show us the direction to go.

Tell about one thing your sponsor needs to know about you.

Despite all the difficulties, I believe that I have lived a decent life. I have fulfilled my duty obligations to my family. If I am still alive, it means that my children and grandchildren still need me. As long as my health allows, I will help them and try to lead them to God. Praise be to God!
