Tell about your childhood, school, family, etc.

When WW II started we went to my mother’s native village in Kharkiv region. It was a very beautiful village. Then we were living under German occupation. I remember the Nazi sharing candies and chocolate with Ukrainian kids. The Germans did not destroy anything in our village unlike Russian soldiers today who have destroyed  the village completely. As a child I remember my mother and grandmother working in the field of collective farms all days long. My great grandmother taught me to love and fear the Lord. She was taking me to a church in town. I was a good student in school.

Where did you work? Was your work good? Were you happy with your job?

After finishing school I entered to the State University. I graduated majoring in physics and then was sent to Kyiv to work at the Academy of Science. At that time science was in process of active development when it was well integrated into manufacture so I was very pleased with my job. I believed that it was God who was protecting and helping me.

Tell about your present life.

I remember WW II, then post-war famine, hard time in 1950s, Perestroyka, then Ukraine’s independence. Ukrainians are hard-working, kind, hospitable, beautiful people. Ukraine was prospering and developing and now … Our “dear neighbors” are hating and destroying us. We are not alone, we are loved but the situation is so sad.

Have you accepted Christ? How long have you been following the Lord?

I believe in Christ since my childhood, but I seriously decided to follow him in 1994. I believe God will give Ukraine victory.

Tell about one thing your sponsor needs to know about you.

My life has not been easy but it was interesting. My work conditions were hard (poisons, radioactivity). I was assigned to get good pension for long period of good work, but now it can hardly cover paying for utility bills. I was a member of the Movement fighting for Ukraine’s independence. Unfortunately, now we still have corruption in our country but I believe the Lord will help me and bless me because my daughters and grandkids need me. I am very thankful to our American sponsors and MMK workers here in Ukraine. Let God bless you with good health and peace!
