Tell about your childhood, school, family, etc.
I was born into a large family. I had three sisters. My father was a civil servant. He was the only bread-winner in the family. We were poor. Of the four siblings, I was the only one to get higher education.
Where did you work? Was your work good? Were you happy with your job?
After graduation from pedagogical institute, I taught mathematics technical drawing at secondary school. To get a higher salary I was constantly looking for additional workload. My work did not bring me much joy: it involved grading papers, extra classes for students who fell behind, conversations with parents and organization of extracurricular activities. When I got married, I moved to Kiev.
Tell about your present life.
After moving to Kyiv, I enrolled in the programmimg course. Having competed it, I got a job with the Institute of Communications. My work was quite interesting.
My husband and I had one daughter. Now I am a widow. My husband died 5 years ago. My daughter married and gave birth to a son (my grandson). Since the outset of the war, my daughter has lived abroad. My grandson’s family is abroad as well (in Poland). My grandson is the only family member who remains in Kyiv.
Have you accepted Christ? How long have you been following the Lord?
When I worked at school or the Institute of Communications, I almost never visited church. But in the summer of 2016, I was invited to a worship service at St. Paul’s. In October, I became a church member. I started to attend both worship services and Bible study groups. I began to probe the Bible more deeply and learnt to pray. I feel that I have become closer to God.
Tell about one thing your sponsor needs to know about you.
Thank you so much for your monthly support. May God bless you and your family!
My present life is full of suspense. I constantly expect air raid alerts. They make me worried all the time. Where will the missile hit? What is going to be destroyed?
In addition to S. Paul’s, I attend a small ‘’home church’’ in my neighborhood. We study the Bible together and pray for our needs and for Ukraine.
I do know that during this war many people came to faith in God. I do believe that God will forgive our sins and help us.
Dear Lord! Protect the people of Ukraine. Preserve our country and its integrity. Reunite our families. Amen.
