Tell about your childhood, school, family, etc.
When I was born my father was in prison – he was sentenced for 3 years but because of the war, he spent in jail in Siberia 10 years. I was 3 when WW II started. I have two older brothers. One of them was sent to Germany to a concentration camp. I stayed with my elder sister and our mother. After the war I finished school and technical college and became a book-keeper.
Where did you work? Was your work good? Were you happy with your job?
I worked as a book-keeper in different organizations. One of them is a Botanic Garden in downtown of Kyiv. My work conditions were good and I was pleased with my job. In my lifetime I met nice people from whom I learnt a lot. I have always tried to do good to other people.
Tell about your present life.
Now I live with my son, his wife and my grandson. I have problem while walking – my spin, hip joints hurt a lot. My family helps me with everything. My daughter and her family live in a different town – we stay in touch over the phone now. Forst it was Covid and now the war that separate people. Let God give us strength to endure it all. Jesus completed his life mission and we are to do so.
Have you accepted Christ? How long have you been following the Lord?
During the USSR Christians were persecuted. So believers secretly prayed, read some Christian books and had Christian fellowship. I always remember my mother say when someone was leaving, “Let God bless your way!” I accepted Christ after Ukraine became independent. I believe in Christ for He is always with me at any moment helping me when I call.
Tell about one thing your sponsor needs to know about you.
The thing my sponsor need to know about me is that my whole family and are patriots of Ukraine. The Lord and supreme heavenly powers put our current President into a position to defend Ukraine and the whole world from the evil and the darkness. Everyone who believes him bring light and peace into the whole world. He said, “We will not wait until miracles happen but we will make miracles ourselves”. And we support him. Our head military commander addressed the whole humanity and we are addressing you know our brothers and sisters in Christ with the request to pray for every single soldier who is on the frontline with no light and heat protecting our independent Ukraine and the whole world from the evil brought by Russia. By defending us and the whole world our soldiers are making their way to heaven. Our only wish now is the coming victory. I believe our army, in their victory, because we are Ukrainians and the whole world is expecting us to win. God is there with our soldiers helping them to fight the evil. Please, support us. Glory to Ukraine! Glory to its heroes!
