Pobochaya, Lubov

Name, date and place of birth:

#18 Pobochaya, Lubov. October 7, 1941. Golubichy Village, Chernigiv region

She called me herself. It was very pleasant to me that in her hard time she decided to call me to pray together. Lubov is in Kyiv. She is at home and cannot attend church. Her son comes on Thursdays and then does grocery shopping for his mother. But now her son is in the hospital – he is to be operated on. Therefore Lubov called me – she wanted to pray for the surgery of her son. It is good to understand that our widows know Whom to address first when hard times come. It is the second surgery for her son – it is hard for a family financially and emotionally but together they overcome all the hardships! Lubov is very thankful for support and care until now. She is sending her greetings to her sponsors. Let God bless them.

Description

Tell about your childhood, school, family, etc.

I was born during the war in a dugout and God rescued my life. I never saw my father – he was killed in the war. My brother was a partisan – he was buried alive by the Nazi. Since 1946 I have been living in Kyiv. Then I finished school.

Where did you work? Was your work good? Were you happy with your job?

I worked at the motorcycle factory after I finished school. Then I worked at the construction spot as an electrician. In 1965 I graduated from the Polytechnik University and  worked as an engineer at different factories. I really loved my job. I took business trips to many parts of the former Soviet Union. I often traveled with my husband since we were working at the same department. In 1990 I changed my job since engineers were not much needed and I became a book-keeper.

Tell about your present life.

Now I am retired. I have disability status of the 2nd degree. I am a widow. My son moved to my place to help me around the house. I often do not feel well – then I read my Bible, pray, go to see a doctor. I always pray to God. I thank St. Paul Church for spiritual and material support. I church I do not feel alone.

Have you accepted Christ? How long have you been following the Lord?

Sure. Ever since I was a student I have been a believer. I would pray to Christ and He always helped me. First I came to church in 1991. I joined St. Paul Church in 2000 where I was invited by Vera Kudrya. I like been in church from the first time I came here. I loved to attend Bible classes taught by Roger and Diane McMurrin. It is a pity those finished so quickly.
