Tell about your childhood, school, family, etc.
My childhood was not happy – there was famine similar to the on in 1932-1933. I had and older sister. My mother was working very hard. She did not receive money – for every day of work she was paid with 100 grams of wheat. We were happy when we could eat some soup, but it was not often. But my mother was thankful for everything.
Where did you work? Was your work good? Were you happy with your job?
I finished middle school in our village. Then my friend and I went to Kyiv to enter Trade College. I was an A student. I found a job, but I did not work long. I got married and gave birth to a son. When my son was five my husband was killed in a car accident. Then I started working at a factory in positions where I could make the most money for I had to provide for our family. My latest job was in the children’s hospital I had worked there for 15 years as a nurse assistant.
Tell about your present life.
I am 75 now. All my hardships in life caused many illnesses. I have sugar diabetes, pancreas disease, heart issues, phlebeurysm of feet. Last year I fell and injured my knee – now I walk with a cane. Let God keep our doctor Vadim. He is so caring and helpful every time I see him.
Have you accepted Christ? How long have you been following the Lord?
Yes. In my childhood my mother was teaching me prayers and psalms. Every time we were going through hardships she would say, “Pray to God, He knows everything and He hears everything”. And this is what I do: I pray and read the Scripture. When our neighborhood is under bombing threat, I say, “Lord, be with me” and pray and it helps. The Lord is my Savior, I put my trust in Him.
Tell about one thing your sponsor needs to know about you.
My sponsor is Linda Duell. We write to one another sometimes. I tell her about my life and health issues – if it is not interesting to her, I am sorry. I thank her for material help – I could purchase expensive medicines. When troubles come into our life we are to remember about God, pray to Him, share all our pain and worries. And God comes and answers in time. Then we start seeing things differently – we appreciate everything we have. God knows when to give us the things we ask for – we just have to believe that He is able to do that. Let God give us wisdom not to complain when troubles come, but to remember that He has lived Himself through these things and thus is able to help us. Christmas greetings to you all, my brothers and sisters who are oversea!
