Tell about your childhood, school, family, etc.

I spent my childhood in the storage place under stair-case in the house in the center of Kyiv – this is where I was born. When my father came back from the war he found his apartment occupied by a judge who did not take part in WW II. My parents were told to be quiet and not protest otherwise they would be in trouble. Nothing of our possessions were returned to us.

Where did you work? Was your work good? Were you happy with your job?

My mother’s grandfather was killed by the Soviets- he was a general in the Tsar Army. Bolsheviks offered him to deny Christ and his position, but he refused. So after WW II our family had to live in a storage place with no windows. The room was so humid that mushrooms were popping up and growing from the floor. Therefore I developed problems with my eyes and neurology and my brother had rachitis. Till I was 28 my mother  and I shared one bed, because my father was sick. Now I have an apartment but I am alone with lots of health issues.

Tell about your present life.

If you want to learn more about my family you can find the information in Diane’s first book. My mother’s name is Mariana. Diane visited our home and we showed her our photos and shared many of our stories with her. I worked at Project Institute as an engineer. In 1993 with the collapse of the Soviet Union I lost my job and this is when I started losing my health as well. I cannot see with one eye at all, the other one was operated three times. My body muscles are always in relaxed condition, both legs and hands ache. My hearing is very poor. I have disability status of the 2nd degree.

Have you accepted Christ? How long have you been following the Lord?

I believe in Christ. But it gets hard when I am discouraged. But praise God for everything. I wish I were healthier.

Tell about one thing your sponsor needs to know about you.

I would like to ask my sponsors to pray for my vision and hearing. I wish I could have a hearing device to hear better. The main trouble is my loneliness – I have no kids so there is no one to take care of me. I would like to wish my sponsors to never give up no matter how hard problems may be. Praise God for everything. I have written a lot to me sponsors but they did not respond. I pray for them.
