Tell about your childhood, school, family, etc.
I finished a local school. After my parents divorced I never saw my father. He had another woman and never tried to see me again. When I was 12, my mother remarried. I am the only child in a family. My step-father died about 10 years ago so my mother is a widow now.
Where did you work? Was your work good? Were you happy with your job?
In 1979 I married a student of a military academy. After our son was born in 1980 our family moved to Orenburg region (Russia) where my husband had to serve. It was a tiny town so I had to pick any available job. In 1987 our daughter was born. Then my husband was sent to Kazakhstan where soon our family moved. My major is book-keeping and finances but I have never worked in this field – it is very hard to find a job in small towns. Many military wives did not work, others were happy to get any job.
Tell about your present life.
After collapse of the USSR at the age of 40 my husband finished his military career and we returned to Kyiv. Occasionally he tried to find a job but he was not happy with non-military positions soon he started drinking. Now he does not work and lives on his pension. I try not to communicate with him. In 2020 my son was diagnosed with brain tumor. First right side of his body was paralyzed, then he got attacks. After the surgery he was told it was not cancer. He started working with a cane. His hand and leg still cannot function well. Because of not sufficient job experience he receives very small social support + he received the 2nd degree disability. I am a pensioner too. I provide for my son.
Have you accepted Christ? How long have you been following the Lord?
I believe in Christ. I grew in my faith during my son’s surgery when no doctor could give us hope for his better condition. I believe God helped me and my son for I was always in prayer. Before I was not committed to prayer. But now I always pray – for my family, for Ukraine, for our soldiers, for the victory. I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior and is committed to serve Him.
Tell about one thing your sponsor needs to know about you.
We all hope for peace in Ukraine. I believe God is with us and we all trust in Him. So let He keep us. I am thankful to everyone who takes care of us.
