Tell about your childhood, school, family, etc.

I was born into a large family. When I was one year old, I received a severe burn that covered 70% of my body. Because of this, I spent a lot of time in hospitals until I was 7 years old. By the Lord’s providence, I was chosen for treatment at a specialized institute in Yalta, Crimea. There I lived and received treatment until I was in the 8th grade. After I was released from the hospital, I returned to my home in the Chernihiv region and graduated with honors. Then I worked at school, teaching children. But one spring I went to church for Easter. And for that I was fired from my job and expelled from the Communist Party.

Where did you work? Was your work good? Were you happy with your job?

I moved to Kyiv. I got a job at a factory. I got married and had a son. Three years later, I got divorced and continued to raise my son alone. I continued to study and got a technical degree in electrical engineering. I worked for a company that installed and maintained elevators in residential buildings. The working conditions were not bad, although not very easy for a woman. But I had enough time to devote to my son. He finished school well and made a military career in the state border troops.

Tell about your present life.

Now I don’t work because of my age anymore. My pension is small. My son is now abroad. But information about him is classified. Therefore, I do not know where his family, his wife, my two granddaughters and great-grandson are now. I have no contact with them now.

Have you accepted Christ? How long have you been following the Lord?

I have always believed in the Lord. On my father’s side, I come from a family of Orthodox priests. The communist authorities took away my grandfather’s property, land, and a large house. It is still preserved, it is now a hospital. But I have always felt support from the Lord. I pray and praise Him, and now I especially ask for His protection for our long-suffering country.
