Tell about your childhood, school, family, etc.

My childhood was at post-war time – there was famine. My father did not return home from the war with Japan. My mother was taken to Germany to work there during WW II. When she returned she worked as an exterior painter. So I was raised by my grandmother. I was also greatly influenced by school and library.

Where did you work? Was your work good? Were you happy with your job?

I graduated from the College of Art and worked as an art teacher at school. I liked children so I enjoyed my work.

Tell about your present life.

Now I am retired. My husband died long ago. Adult kids live far away from me. Now to be disturbed from the war I attend classes at the university for aging people. I take classes on English and computer literacy. I have very poor vision. I am very thankful to our doctor Vadim who takes care of me. Other health issues are: high blood pressure, ulcer, cardiologic problems and sleeping disorder – but those are caused by the war.

Have you accepted Christ? How long have you been following the Lord?

I have been a believer since my childhood – my believing grandmother affected me greatly. There was no God in Soviet school. After my kids were born I started attending different churches: orthodox, catholic, evangelical. I could not decide which church to stay until  I found myself at KSOC concert. Roger and Diane won my heart.

Tell about one thing your sponsor needs to know about you.

I love my sponsors a lot. Bill and I were born in the same month and Sally as petite as I am. They chose and loved me and took me into their big friendly family. My greatest desire is to see them face to face. I hope after the Victory they will come to Kyiv to meet me.
