Tell about your childhood, school, family, etc.

I finished elementary school in our village. Then the following 3 years I went to school in another village. There I lived at my relatives’. I studied well, so they would not be ashamed for me. I did not miss school and had respect among my peers. I managed to do everything: to study and help my family.

Where did you work? Was your work good? Were you happy with your job?

I worked at the big publishing house in Kyiv. I was pleased with my job and its hardships. I lived in various apartments and then at the dormitory. The Lord was leading me, I thank Him for that. Praise be to Him forever for having kept me safe. I am 76 now and He guides me though life. Praise be to the Father, the Son and the Spirit. Amen.

Tell about your present life.

I have always had a positive attitude in life and it helps me to survive. I used to be a part of 4 different choirs. Now because of the war I had to stop. It is a terrible war. Lord, stop this horrible war in our Ukraine soon. Give health, strength and courage to our dear soldiers who defend us. We, Ukrainians, should be united so our Ukraine would prosper. Amen. Peaceful sky to all Ukraine and the whole world, health and well-being, joy and happiness.

Have you accepted Christ? How long have you been following the Lord?

I have been following the Lord since I was 5. It was forbidden before and now all people rushed to the church. Let God give us all understanding and sensibility. Better late than never.

Tell about one thing your sponsor needs to know about you.

I do not know if my sponsor knows, but my son died at the age of 34 on Valentines Day. My husband also died – we were close to celebrating 50the Anniversary of our marriage. But I continue my walk with the Lord. Lord, bless me with happiness, joy, health, encouragement and strength to be able to attend our dear St. Paul’s Church. I wish our church members peace, health and success in everything. Merry Christmas to you all. I wish you happiness and joy, let us be proud of our families and be human. Let us honor God and pray, study the Bible and go to church. Stay in good health. Walk through this life with joy praising Jesus. Good-bye, Vera Petrusenko.
