Tell about your childhood, school, family, etc.

I was raised in a Ukrainian family. I was the second kid in a family of 8 kids. I had a brother who was two years older. My both parents came from Kyiv region. My father was and orphan and he wanted to have many kids. So there were 4 boys and 4 girls in our family. All the kids received education. But since I was the oldest girl I had to help my mother a lot.

Where did you work? Was your work good? Where you happy with your job?

I started working at the age of 15. I worked in different areas of production. My first area of expertise was an electric technician. Then I worked in the area of plumbing. Then I received special training and started working as an engineer. I was happy with my job. I love God and treat people with this love. I believe in God. God is in me and I am in Him. Amen.

Tell about your present life.

This coming February I will turn 79. I live alone. I have disability status of the 2nd degree. Every day I have to take lots of pain-killers – they prolong my life. God loves me and enables me to overcome this pain. Now the time in Ukraine is very difficult. Enemy’s weapon kills our people including children. The war is taking place in Kyiv and in the whole Ukraine. The most difficult thing for me was to live through divorce of my son. My son had a nervous breakdown. It happened 5 years ago. I have a great granddaughter of 5. Now my son lives alone, he works. My mother’s heart aches for him. We stay in touch over phone. He helps his family financially. I stay in touch with my daughter-in-law, my grandson and my great granddaughter. They live in a different part of the city – it takes 2 hours to get there.

Have you accepted Christ? How long have you been following the Lord?

My parents were believers and my mother always encouraged their kids to go to church. She would always ask God for forgiveness for not going to church – she had no time. I came to church in 2000 and my husband (he died 7 years ago) came to church a year later. I am active in our church. I help my HB people. I used to deliver 5 food packages. I believe in God – I am in Him and He is in me. He takes the first place in my life.

Which one thing does your sponsor need to know about you?

With all of my heart I am thankful to my sponsor for such material support, care and God’s love for me. I sense both material and spiritual help. Let God keep you and bless you. I love you, my brothers and sisters. With God’s love, Zina.
